Hello Everyone!!! Thank you for embracing T4Ls Professional Network. I am the Leader of Teach4Life Professional Network, as well as, Owner/Founder of Teach4Life Consulting. Let me introduce myself to the group: My name is Timamu, which means "Complete" in Swahili. Thus far, I have acquired a Magna cum Laude Bachelor's of Science of Technical Management with a concentration in Sales & Marketing. Currently, I am studying a Master's of Science of Psychology, with a specialization of Leadership Development & Coaching.
Professionally, I have worked in the Human Resources field for over fifteen years, which includes a wide range of diverse industries; such as, Financial Trade, Banking, Pharmaceutical, Retail, Int'l Import/Export, Health care, Aerospace, Real Estate, as well as, non-profit and public organizations, particularly, Fortune 500 companies in New York and New Jersey... Objectively, working for many, many, many years as an employee allowed me to see the "Big Picture" in which connectted the puzzle pieces of life and what I was most passionate about. Sharing knowledge, and offering an invisible hand to others. Whereas, I began to realize what my true "calling" was to become. A Educator, Leader, Business & Professional Development Coach, and a Scholar Practitioner who thrives on positive change for the greater of society as a whole...
Pushing forward & embracing life's journey in a positive manner, keeps me grounded and aware of the blessings store upon me. In particular, having had the opportunity to satisfy my hirearchy of human needs, via physiological, safety & security, esteem, love & belonging, and most importantly self actualization. I have become a scholar practitioner who continues to develop & strengthen, as well as, incorporate a professional lifestyle, subject matter expert knowledge & skill, leadership & coaching methodologies. Academically & professionally, I've obtained proficient technical & time management skills, personal and professional development.
Prior to reaching self-actualization, and working as an employee, I became aware of an internal need for self development. Although, I was learning the fundamentals of business while developing technical and professional skill, I always felt there was more of life to capture and embrace. The realization of self became a priority, as well as listening to my intuition about business, making greater decisions by turning a negative into a positive factor in my life.
The transition of an employee to a student , and now an entrepreneur is the greatest blessing a woman can pray for to achieve in one lifetime...
It's funny how life takes a spin or twist your faith. One sunny day, A Merger Acquisition happened, guess what??? I took a leap of FAITH & Pushed Forward. Fortunately, an opportunity surfaced and I reached out & leaped with confidence towards achieving individual goals & needs/wants... Little did I know, returning to college & embracing the knowledge would be the start of a new & productive direction, which includes the journey of opportunities... Immediately, the day of making this greater decision I felt an internal shift of satisfaction, no fear, only strength; in which was lost while being employed. The fact of the matter is development of self is "Food for Thought."
Based on Abraham Maslow research there is a hierarchy of human needs that must be satisfied in order for an individual to grow. Maslow concept was determined by two groups via deficiency needs and growth needs. Before we explore the four levels of "deficiency needs," we should realize the commitment to ourselves is important to attain, and each level must be achieved in order to move forward and onto the next higher level. Once each of these needs are satisfied, an individual becomes equipped with the natural resources of self, detects the recurrence of deficiency sooner rather than later, and will act to remove the deficiency. Now, let's explore the first four levels: 1) Physiological: hunger, thirst, bodily comforts
2) Safety/security: out of danger
3) Belonging and Love: affiliate with others, be accepted
4) Esteem: to achieve, be competent, gain approval and recognition.
According to Maslow, "an individual is ready to act upon the growth needs if and only if the deficiency needs are met." Maslow's hypothesis included only one growth need which is self-actualization. Self-actualized human beings are distinguished by eight factors.
1) problem-focused
2) incorporating an ongoing freshness of appreciation of life
3) a concern about personal growth
4) the ability to have peak experiences
5) Cognitive: to know, to understand, and explore
6) Aesthetic: symmetry, order, and beauty
8) Self-transcendence: to connect to something beyond the ego or to help others find self-fulfillment and realize their potential
The objective of Teach4life is to help individuals and groups find their Self actualization and Self transcendence natural resources from within by providing a wide range of professional development services; which includes computer learning workshops (Microsoft Office, Social Networking, and job research), motivation seminars, professional workshops for high school students, career development and literacy programs; along with resume writing/interviewing/and direct job referrals.
The 21st century unemployment rate continues to rise above the "average" percentage. However, the opportunity to develop and satisfy our human needs is essential to growth for our families, and society as a whole. Let's began to build a stronger foundation of self, enhance the relations between home and business, and gain the success we deserve to achieve. The level of business has vastly 'soured in the innovation of employment for lower and middle class citizens of our nation. It is time to Push Forward, light a torch, and take control of your lives...
